Sovereign House GH - Educational Sponsorship

Isaac is 13 years old. He dropped out of school in Class 5, when his father fell ill. He did not go back as his father passed away and was sent to the village with his mum. He did not attend school there and worked in the relatives’ farm. His mother returned to Accra with him, but because she had no source of income, he could not go back to school.

Isaac spent his days going around the neighbourhood doing all kind of jobs to enable him to earn some money. He used some to buy second hand books and kept learning even though he was not going to school. He loved school and he aimed to earn enough to pay for his fees, but he could not quite achieve that dream. With sponsorship secured for him, he began school in May 2016, in Class 3.

He is happy to have the opportunity of being in school and is doing very well. Isaac is very studious and has joined the after-school club. He had extra tuition during the summer to boost his performance. He started the academic year in Class 4. He wants to be a doctor in the future.
