Sovereign House GH Awarded Grant from Wellbeing Fund
Sovereign House GH has been awarded £1500 from the Salford CVS Wellbeing fund, to support our computer learning classes for children in Salford. We are very grateful, and look forward to continuing to improve the wellbeing of the community in Salford. The grant will be used to pay for vital software used in classes to make sure children are safeguarded properly, and for supplies to meet the student’s needs.
About the Fund
The Wellbeing Fund is for small voluntary, community or social enterprise sector organisations for projects which help to improve the health and wellbeing of Salford residents.
It is supported by NHS Salford CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) as part of the Third Sector Fund.
It is focused on promoting the five ways to wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Take Notice, and Give.
Connect
Spend time developing and nurturing relationships with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.
Be active
Try to find an activity that you enjoy, and that keeps you active, such as walking, swimming, cycling or playing football. Evidence shows that an improvement in your physical health can help improve your mental health.
Keep learning
Learning new skills can boost confidence and give you a sense of achievement. Find more information about our classes in Salford and Bury.
Take notice
Being more aware of the present moment, the world around you and your own feelings and thoughts, can help you to positively change how you’re feeling about life. The NHS has information about mood and symptoms designed to recommend ways and resources to help you better understand how you feel.
Give
Helping others, saying thank you, or giving someone a smile can help to improve your self-esteem and improve your emotional health. Find out how you can volunteer and help in your community, build up new social networks, and gain experience if you’re looking for a job.
